Default WIndoes Movie Maker-trimming

Hrm, I try to remove a section in the middle of an imported clip.
So, I set the *start trim at the beginnig of when the section I want deleted starts and I set the *end trim at the end of the part of the section I want removed; it turns out that when I play the file, it only plays the parts within the trim points(what I want trimmed!) How do I do this correctly, please.
Also, is there a way to set multiple trims, beacuase I have a few clips that I want to remove sections from without creating one trim, saving the new trimmed file, and then import that file to trim again and repeating that process over and over untill ,say, 10 different parts are trimmed from a clip.
Thanks

Not sure about all this, but here is how I trim clips. I put the marker where I want the trim to happen and click split track (located on the viewing window). I then set the marker at the next spot I want trimmed and do the same. Now I have three sections of my clip. You can delete whatever section you want.
