When you put the disc into the drive do you see a folder that has VIDEO_TS under it? If the disc was finalized in the camera, then you should see that folder. Double click on it and when the files open, the actual video clips should have a vob extension, they are the largest files on the disc (anything from a few hundred megabytes to gigabytes - just move the mouse pointer over them to see). If you got software along with your camera you may need to use it to get the video files off the discs and onto your computer. Hopefully it will allow you to convert from .vob (not a very popular editing format) to a more popular format such as .avi.
