Default Adobe or Apple for Video Editing

I am comtemplating whether to use Adobe Premier and After Effects or Final Cut Pro 4 and the other Apple editing programs fro video editing. Can someone give me some suggestions on which ones are recomended on using and why. Thanks.

Depends whether you've got a PC or a MAC. Or are you deciding which platform itself to buy?
If you got a Mac I'd stick with software designed primarily for Macs, ie FCP and something like Apple Shake (expensive).
If youve got a PC you cant use final cut pro so your choices are Premier, Pinnacle LE or Avid XpressDV the choice is mainly a personal preference thing or which NLE supports the features/effects that most suit your needs.
