Default Dropped frames - need help!

Hello there,

I'm just starting out in editing. Had a few hours of tutorials and was about to attampt editing, but as I was trying to capture video to my computer , the capturing stoped and I got a pop up window that said " dropped frames have been detected"
I read something in the help menu that I should set the analogue data rate somewhere to 3 mb/sec, only I have no idea what that means nor do I know where to set this preference.
If you have any clue what, where and how, please help me out!

Thanks in advance!
Cheers

PS. I'm using Final Cut Pro 4 on a Power Mac G4

Do you work with DV or analog material? What interface do you use? Firewire or USB?

Hi Mihai,

Thanks for your interest.

Dropped frames cna occur of your computer is used for anything else whilst capturing. Leave the mouse alone and dont open anything for sure when capturing - if that isnt it, not sure what to suggest.
