Default need help in choosing a software

hi, i've been using WMM for all my videos before. but i find it limited.
i already address to Mark W on this problem but i guess the better way is to post it here.
anyway, i want to put pict on my video. for example like a video of me singing, and when i say the name jennifer lopez, the picture of her (cut from a pict meaning just her with no other additional background) appear from the right and dissapear again after a while. i always want to do that but WMM doesnt have that kind of stuff.
please help me coz i need a software with reasonable prize that can let me do those kind of stuff. im a beginner and doesnt hope for a professional software coz it cost so much.
hope u guys here can help me.
thanx

You will need a good editor and some skill and expirience - have a look at some of the free trails available and see which ones you like the feel of.

To use a picture of Jennifer Lopez or anyone else for that matter in video with the background removed you'll need someway of selecting the image and then getting rid of it. You can do this in expensive applications such as Photoshop. The foreground image is left behind and the background is removed to leave it transparent so you can see what is underneath it. You could try Corel Painter IX or PaintShop Pro (I don't know what version is available now), as long as they have layers and you can save in a format that keeps transparency.

Most basic programs will do this effect. The image of Jennifer Lopez will have to be a .TGA with transparent background, cropped/edited, etc. in Photoshop (not sure if other image editing software will do this, as I've only used PS).

I started with Pinnacle Studio (under $100), then moved on to Premiere Pro. Both programs can do the effect you're after. All you'd have to do is add a couple transitions, and you're all set.

in Premiere you can export a single frame of your video. It will likely be saved as a .BMP file. Open this in your favourite image editor and amend as required.

or if all you want to do is have your clip pause for a while then do the following... Oh, I don;tl have Premiere in front of me so terminology and or specific options migth be named different as this is from memory.

Razor your clip where you want the pause to be. move the two clips apart. Cut and past a copy of the first clip into the new gap. Select it. Right click and choose the frame hold option. Select the 'last frame' option. The duration of that clip will only display the last frame of the clip.
