Manfrotto are listing a sliding release plate under there US company Bogan, but check with CKE distribution in Shipley west yorks , 01274 533996 I know they had quite a few in stock the last time I was there.
As for the Handyman 100 yes you can add the extra weight kit for larger camera weights. They also do a kit that covers all the combinations of the Handyman 100 / 1000 / and 1000 C and comes with a LCD monitor.
Just given them a call. There is a quick release plate called "Manfrotto Quick Release Plate Adapter" which does what it says on the can - so no reseting of weights![]()
Costs £29.
..which produces no matches on a search at Manfrotto's web site. Got a product code or something?Originally Posted by argento
Nope... The lady at CKE said just quote exactly that when you place an order... I asked it it was on their site, she said no.
She seemed to know what she was talking about. I mentioned resetting the weights after you unmount the camera, and she said yes, but this plate for £29 solves the problem.
Just had a chat with them and the CKE product code 06356 is the item to get. This is the manfrotto adaptor and the sliding plate. Which (I think) is one of these http://www.manfrotto.com/product/tem...100&itemid=318Originally Posted by argento
It's £29.50 + vat which is curious because the plate on its own is £29+vat (on the web site at least).
So, anyone know the UK price (US price is quotes as $899) for the 'Merlin' before I order one of these then?
I'm gonna hold off until I see Marcs review, but if it's favorable, I guess I'm gonna get one of these and a quick release fitting...
Will there be any footage with your review Marc?
Yes, but it's slowly slipping down the priority list!

Thanks for the detailed review - It must have taken you ages to do! I just wondered if you considered "upgrading" and buying a Glidecam Pod, or the quick-release plate that Alan mentions earlier in the thread?
BTW, based upon your footage and review, I'm going to order one of these bad boys today![]()
