Default How to capture from sony dsr200 using adobe premiere pro 1.5

Hi,
I recently received a sony DSR 200 DVCam. I tried several times capturing from that camera but Adobe premiere Pro did not recognize DRS 200(DSR200 is not listed among the sony cameras in the device list).
Would you help me solve the problem (being able to capture movie from sony DSR200)?
Best regards.
Touska

It's firewire. No drivers needed.

I connect it through firewire. I don't experience any troubles when I use my sony trv 350 or vx 1000. but the sony dsr 200 is causing me trouble.
Has anybody ever tried using dsr 200 with adobe ?

Default Sony DSR200 Capture Problems with DV In/Out

I too have a Sony DSR200 with capturing issues. When I plug my Sony DCR-TRV280 from the DV In/Out to the computer using firewire, my computer sees the camera right away. However, my computer and Adobe Premier cannot see my Sony DSR200 at all. In fact all I get in the view finder of the DSR200 is "DV In."
Can someone help me?

Odd - are you certain that the f wire post on the dsr is working?? I have not heard of any specific probs with this cam and prem.

Does WMM recognise the dsr ? Does XP recognise the camera with a ' bong ' ?

Default DSR200 DV In/Out not working

Yes, that is what I am affraid of. The dsr camera's DV In/Out is not working. I just wanted to find out if it could be anything else. WMM does not recognise the camera at all. I was wondering if there were settings in the camera or if I needed to download drivers or something like that.

Thanks for writting.

I ahve owned 2 vx9000e over the years - same as dsr 200 but no xlr and dv not dvcam - and I dont recall any settings on the camera that may cause this. F wire does not need specific drivers for different cams.

The lack of bong is a concern.

I broke the f wire post on one of my vx - the f wire board cost £400 ( sorry) - about what the camers is worth... ( i got a new camera).

Barring very teccy friends the only way to suss for sure ( as i did) is to take for a repair estimate.
