Finally gave in and went to see this film last night. Thought it may be of interest to people on this forum because of its home movie shot and edited style. Filmed over 1 week with a budget of £9k yes thats 000's not ooo ooo's

Very little FX to speak off, deffinitley a case off less is more here. Gotta say the film is genuinely unnerving

If you go to see this film DO NOT watch any trailers.

Considering the films been around a while, was suprised to find the cinema packed. its been while since i heard people call out in fear (both male and female) at the cinema

I'm glad you posted this enc. I was wondering if it was just hype or if it really was a good film. It's really encouraging that a low budget film can do so well at the box office. Do we know the story of how it got picked up by the big distributors ?

There's hope for us little people yet.

You may already know the story behind the film. Director Oren Peli shot it in seven days entirely in his home, for $15,000. It was championed by Steven Spielberg, among others, and a more polished version of the movie was ordered. But when Peli screened the original, crowds enjoyed it so much that the real thing got the distribution deal.......

The quality of a film is very often in inverse proportion to its budget.

Knife in the water - polanski - his first feature lenth - one of my fav films.

Not sure of exact budget but it was very low and the actors were not professional at the time.

I watched terminator 4 last week - 200 million was it - oh dearie me.... Knife in the w could be made for £20,000 even today I bet.

Bloody ace and very low budget - shot on 16mm b/w and I think it was all shot from hand / tripod - hardly any fancy camera moves.
