That is one of the better examples I've seen, although IMHO it is spoilt by the extreme wide angle lens which is distorting things almost beyond the watchable. Impressive that the camera couldn't see the aircraft (except the mommentary shadow in the sand!)

Still has one basic flaw in that the camera banks with the aircraft, although I guess that could be overcome by the pilot.

The camera is a full frame DSLR still camera with video capability, hence the use of the 14mm lens. Weight around 1.6kg

Hi Ian,
Just checked the weight of my camera. Its spot on 2.5 K's.
Its deceptive as I always use a body harness that weighs a ton which I really like for a smoother movement

I'm only dreamin Ian, I've as much chance of buying a real one as I have of buying a model. In other words...no chance

This link shows what a good setup looks like. The English translation is not very good but as you can see he is using a 50 size heli to lift a rig weighing 2kg.

http://homepage1.nifty.com/CUE/html/main_fset_e.htm

On his site he gives a useful explanation of where the remote helicopter fits in. He describes it as being useful in the space between the ground and up to the minimum height that a full size craft would fly at. Its great for ultra low level and birds eye viewpoint shots which a real aircraft couldn't possible capture.

As for costs well to buy everything new is going to be around £800 to £1000 I guess so in that respect its not cheap.

Been checking out this website Shrimpy. Its got lots of good information.
Hadn't realised how many options there are. Gas, Nitro, Electric etc etc, Ohhhh confusion!!!
I'd love to be able to afford this.

Look at the expense though...Phew.
The electrics would appear to have the most going for them regarding reliability and simplicity although its a bit like swings and round abouts.
