Default And the winner is...

It seems Blu Ray has been announced the winner in the High Definition format wars. Although not admitting defeat, the UK press has been unanimous in announcing Toshiba's HD DVD loss. It seems some sneaky fellow in the Blu Ray camp has been releasing many a statistic from the christmas period, and the likes of Woolworths in the UK have made a decision to stop stocking HD DVDs in March. Even Toshiba, although not admiting defeat, appear to be on the back foot by claiming that their HD DVD players are still good for upscaling DVDs and a libabry of over 800 titles. Oh dear.

Yep - the situation has all the hallmarks of VHS versus Betamax. Only this time Sony looks like it's won.... It obviously learnt some lessons from that one!

Ha - sony finally get thier revenge - I must say i am confused by the technical pros and cons - i suppose blu ray is best cos it hols more..?

The main thing for me is that we now have a winner - the conflict was unhelful to us consumers.

Might get that ps3 now.... (when cashflow allows).

I have a sneaky feeling the life cycle of Blu Ray will be pretty short.

Amazing how they've been so quick to jump on the bandwagon. Almost as if it's a PR campaign in itself.
