Music Video's CGI?

This is a bit of a strange question, and I don't know whether this is the right forum for it, but I was just wondering about music videos. As we all know, when you have a photo of a girl band or something, they are generally edited to make them look as perfect as possible (i.e. any flaws edited out). However, when you watch a music video, do they do the same thing using some form of advanced editing, or do they just rely on brilliant lighting and makeup? I know it's a wierd question but I like to know how much of what I watch is shot and how much edited. Anyone know?

i think its mainly good lighting and lots of makeup and a soft focus on the camera, followed by some effects which will defuse the light if needed. i wouldnt think there is too much faffing about while editing.
