Default Help! ( This is in the right place?)

Well I have a little Problem i Bought a Sony HI8 (CCD-TRV138 NTSC) And after i bought it i relised that i cant get it hooked to the computer to transfer stuff to the Comp and well Is there any thing that converts my A/V out jack to USB? If so Where can i get it adn about how much does it cost?

Hi, you need a capture card like the Pinnacle Studio AV/DV, or a Firewire converter, such as the Canopus ADVC series. It's not gonna cost you more than $100. Check out our FAQ about video capture, read the reviews, then decide.

I Looked on BestBuy.com and Well... Would this work? they way they describe it i cant edit my Footage... Is this true?

And is this just like a Wire converter? or is this like some thing i have to out in the comp like a Cd drive?

You're right, that's for DVD recording, or it can capture in MPEG-2 (DVD format) which isn't appropriate for editing.
Look for devices that can capture AVI video.

But could it transfer the Footage too the computer then Use WMM to edit it? (Dont laugh at me about WMM im not doing big fancy stuff just lil editing for paintball)

If not... Have any suggestions? for a capture card or Firewire converter

I suspect a decent capture soloution will cost as much as a DV camera ! My suggestion is to simplify matters and buy a DV camera and shoot on that.
