If one existed and I can't think of one I must admit, I can't imagine a legit use for it.

What are you trying to do with it?

You won't find a "silver bullet" for this I don't think! Any plugin to do this would have to 'invent' the details to go over the watermark.

By far your easiest options are to crop the clip to remove the 'offending watermark' or to just cover it over with a graphic of your own.

Again though, I'm happy to give the benfit of the doubt, but I'm still at a loss as to the legitimacy of doing this. It sounds like you might be using footage you haven't bought the rights to which is why it's watermarked in the first place, to avoid un-sanctioned use. Maybe I don't want to know the answer eh?

As a producer of work that occassionally has a watermark at the bottom I will tell you why it's there.

Simply, to stop people nicking the video and using it themselves and either a) claiming it's their work, or
b) using it out of context, or,
c) not paying for it's use.

To that end, I feel quite stongly about it. My advice is this.
Shoot your own stuff.
Don't steal others work.
Respect copyrights. They are there for a reason.

I sincerely hope no one ever develops a remover.

And? What difference does that make? At the end of the day, you haven't shot the material and it doesn't belong to you. Someone else has done alot of hard work that you are just using for your own ends.

Would you like me to nip round your house and steal your car? I doubt it. So I AGAIN advise you to shoot your own material and stop ripping off what's not yours.

Hmm, broadly I agree with the dont copy thing.

BUT, much innovative work can be done with 'found' video. I think of it as similar to sampling in the music biz.

I have made lots of vids with stuff i knicked. But i really think you should credit your sources ALWAYS. If really is wrong to let people think video in a piece is shot by you if it wasnt.

That means you should always leave watermarks IN.

Why don't you contact the author of the clips and as if you can use it?
