Default Better than a Glidecam....

So, having got a bit bored of the camera crane, I have turned my attention to the Glidecam. I played with Marc's and figured I could do better. Can't say too much here about the detail of the design in case someone nicks it, but my inspiration came from the new Dyson ad on TV the other night.

I think I've cracked the weight distribution vs. tired wrist problem and , the camera removal and replacement without the tedious re-balancing problem, and the `it tilts off centre on it's own` scenario.

Still in the `cobble it together out of old bits` stage, but be warned....it's on its way...

Just need a sexy name for it. Suggestions?

Oh, and my guess is that it will be less than a hundred quid, too.

Good stuff. Well, following the runaway success of the Kestrel crane why not stick with the birds theme and call it "The Raptor" and use the tag line "Makes all the others look like tits" Serious about 'raptor' though.

Cool name Alan! Cheers. I love the tag line too. I might even go with it. A little humour in marketing is a rare thing.

Just one question to all you guys who actually bought (or otherwise acquired) a glidecam.

How often do you actually use the facility to rotate in the horizontal plane through 360 degrees? Further to that, would about a 300 degree rotation be enough?

Iiiin all seriousness, if you're keeping in the theme, surely a bird of prey would be a good idea?
