Default Special Effects Question

I have seen this in a couple of movies, where a guy hits a white ball on a pool table and it hits another ball and makes all the other balls go in. How is this done? Is it done by special softawre of just edeting software?

It's a special effect. I nearly did it once on a pool table in Glasgow after 8 pints of strong lager, sixteen packets of crisps and nearly ripping the baize right off the table. Never tried it since but maybe Adobe After Effects can help you out.

Not only that, I know he was playing! It was me. JT lost the match but ran off before coughing up the tenner.

Just PM me JT and we shall make the appropriate arrangements.

right now we're putting together a team of experts to investigate...

sorry, we couldn't help it. it's just that you won't believe how many people come up with questions like this on these forums. it's not like we're the gods of video. there are many people here who work extensively with after effects and other compositing/fx software, but it's really difficult to answer a question like that. it's not like a manual is gonna tell you "for a breath-taking pool effect click..."
i hope you understand that and be patient, someone will eventually figure out your problem too. we actually like these challenges, as we have to do some research ourselves and thus learn smth new...
so stick around, and meanwhile i'm sure there's something you can contribute to the forum!
