Default miniDV tapes

Doing some filming this weekend. Just realised I need some tapes. Any idea what the cheapest place I can get some from is? (about 5 probably)

Preferably a store I can pick some up from. I know loads of places do them, jsut wondered if anybody knew of any deals.

ta.

Went into Boots - saw they had some sony miniDV tapes (3 pack) for £8.99, but on 3 for the price of 2. 9 DV tapes for £17.98. Bargain!

Sadly they'd sold out, so I've sent one of the other teamfishies to their local branch to get some

On the subject of tapes, I used 83min stock for the weekend wedding. I must say that the extra 20 mins really did come in handy! I know it sounds silly, but because you have to hcange tapes at key events to ensure you've got enough time, there's times when you simply have to change not even half way through a tape. Invaribly you don't get a chance to use the rest and it's simply not wirth the hassle of attempting to use the tape for another event.

But with the 83mins I filmed the setup and arrival on one full tape on one cam, then as I was only allowed one camera during the ceromony, filled the rest with the signing of the registry. The ceremony lasted about 40mins, so I then used that tape for the after ceremony shots.

Two tapes down, and on to the reception. Speeches last just under 30 mins, which I filmed with two cams, which left me with just enough tape for the first dance and casuals. So the whole day was filmed on 4 tapes, which would normally take at least 6.

Yes, this is quite possibly my most boring post. Ever.

I heard that the extended length DV tapes had reliability problems compared to standard 60-minute tapes. :

If you search long and hard enough you'll find there's a problem with just about anything. And if there isn't, someone will just go ahead and make it up.

And Mike's were cheaper (£2 each compared to yours for £2.50).
