I've often thought about this, having little else to occupy my mind during the day... I always feel bad when I see an unanswered post. 99% of the time, it seems to me, a post goes unanswered because no-one knows the answer - for whatever reason. What might be good would be if each of the mods took responsibility for perhaps posting a standard response after 24 hours that says something like "sorry no-one's responded to your post yet. It's not because we don't care about your problem - it's because none of the regular contributors to the board knows the answer. We know lots of things - but not everything... Keep checking back, just in case." Or something like that. Just a thought.

Maybe i am a nasty man but i think it should read: "sorry no-one's responded to your post yet. It's because we don't care and it would take too much time to answer such a silly question - now sod off and let me finish my sammich.

Oi, Mr "Mark"
I had the reputation for "mentally unhinged videoforum loony" around here for a while and just because i've not been able to fulfil that criteria much recently, doesn't mean i've given it up. So stop it. Stop it now.
