| | Introduce yourself - the meet and greet I'm a pensions analyst for MNPA, a 3rd party providor of pensions administration. ("How the hell did I end up in pensions" is a question I often ask).
When I'm not setting up pensions schemes, I'll be stuck in front of a PC screen elsewhere working on this site. I've occasionally been known to have a social life, but it's somewhat rare these days!
I'm an economics graduate and studied in France for a year so I also have a French degree in economics. I'm no longer fluent (only in fluent crap). |

| | I'm Mike Thorpe, 27 years old, Married for 6 years, have a 5 year old son.
I work as a Computer Engineer at The University of Manchester.
I also help out at the award winning XS Malarkey Comedy Club in Manchester. We're a non-profit making club that comedians love to play because we have such a nice crowd
I've been running the teamfishcake website for over 9 years, and some claim that I have a rather unconventional sense of humour.
I usually nag Marc into getting things done for this site. I probably annoy him, but I don't care |

| | I'm mrlipring, and i'm an alco... Sorry. Forgot where i was.
I float around forums abusing people. I often offer my services to people making short films in and around Glasgow. Haven't done anything for a year now, due to illness/being skint/sick of films. I'm just getting over the being sick of films thing, and i'm writing more stuff. One day you'll see my stuff on TV.
What i do? I write, do effects, grip nonsense, sound recording, running, and generally anything that needs done.
For money, i'm a callcentre monkey.

| | I have been dubbed Mr.Crane due to my bizarre obsession with getting cameras in places they don't normally get.
My real name is Andy and I run a company called Turn Media. The name came about because up here (Yorkshire) when an act arrives at a club, the sec normally says "ay up, you the turn then?".
I specialise in small productions for entertainers, particularly the showreels they need to promote themselves. I know bugger all about anything technical, I just have a bit of flair (I think!)
To pay the bills I cash cheques for all the folks who can't wait for the bank to do it for them.
Ambitions?
To grow TM into a global empire of historic proportions resulting in total world domination. But like Mr.CocaCola, I'll probably be dead by then. One day soon I'll quit my day job and take TM to the next, shaky level. |

| | Well, my real name is Ian and I really do live and work in Northamptonshire.
Married for ~23 years, three children aged 18, 15 and 12.
Work as the PR guy for a defence electronics company. It occupies about 10% of my 8:00 - 5:00 time, and <5% of my skills and abilities. To alleviate the tedium, I do some freelance journalism. Oh, and I get a pension after I was 'offered' early retirement by my previoou employer.
Video editing is one of many silly things in which I dabble. Others include taking five years to build only half of a model railway and providing technical support to six PCs (yes, I know, there's only five of us. I haven't quite worked it out yet). Current silly project is converting vinyl to CD. Buy way to much stuff off eBay that I don't really need.
That's about it really.

| | The name’s Tony and I’m an economic migrant from north east England. As a Londoner for 30 years, working solidly in mundane jobs means I’ve finished off my mortgage, and can now enjoy a bit of leisure time. I teach English to adults, a job I qualified for in 2004.
At 53, I often clash with today’s accepted ‘wisdom’. I think this is the age of universal B.S. and there are more taboos and heresies now than there have ever been – which is surely a modern paradox, and very worrying for today’s kids.
Marc dubbed me the ‘stealth poster’ a while back. I kind of like the title, but I still think how anyone can post to a public forum by stealth is puzzling. We oldies might have peculiarities, but no more than you younger folk! Sometimes I cannot understand posts at all, so I don’t bother trying.
Wish I’d discovered video much earlier, it’s a beautiful means of expression, and I love watching other users’ efforts.

| | Hi, I've not been around here long.
My name is David and I'm 32 years young next week. I've never found a woman stupid enough to consider lasting any length of time with me, so I'm very happily single with no brats running around.
Up until last year, when the rain eventually broke me, I worked in direct sales and marketing (the pushy in your face kind) for far to long. I'm also a magician who has worked part time for not quite as long as that, that's what got me interested in video. I'd use my webcam as a tool to see what certain aspects of my magic looked like to others. Eventually I got into editing via WMM to make short productions of what I was doing. After a while I decided I could live with this stuff and applied to go back to college and study television production, I start at the end of August.
So now it's time to see where it goes from there.
David. |

| | Hi,
My name is Ben and I live in Staffordshire (the home of Stoke City FC ). I am 15 years old and am doing my GCSEs next year and (thankfully) i'm not married. I've always loved making films ever since my uncle bought us a camera when I was 7 years old. Before then I used to make do with a cardboard box with a couple of loo rolls stuck onto it which vaguely resembled a camera.
Since then I have progressed onto DV and decent quality filmmaking and am now the proud founder and owner of StudioX Productions (link in sig). I posted my first offerings to the internet community on this forum a little while ago.
Ermmm, trivia-wise, I have blue-green eyes?
:P
BTW. Don't ask why i'm called Seymore, i'm not even sure | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
