Greetings good people.
My name is Rob and I’m….. oops wrong forum.
Well, I work in the IT services business for an outsourcer. I started to play with video editing for presentations at work cus its wizzo and gets peoples attention when they are just expecting 20 slides.
I’m intent on achieving serious amateur status at some point, but for now I mostly mess about with video footage of cars (one of my many other hobbies) and footage of the children (forward planning for future blackmail )
If you wish to laugh and point at what has come out of my PC so far using the limited resources of Windows Moviemaker have a poke at this. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/rob.nic...ctober_pod.wmv
I promise I'll get better. |

Hello Rob and welcome to the forums.
Not a bad video. But you SERIOUSLY need a tripod. Maybe not my choice of music but you can't keep evry one happy!

yep. I have to agree about the lack of use of a tripod. Also, unless the cars are actually rolling you should have lost the soundtrack recorded by the camera as there's a bundle of wind noise against the microphone there.

I would say that as a rule of thumb that if you have a hand held camera and no tripod that everything should be shot on full wide.
Like the stedi cam credit !

I'm a retired radio engineer, no, not commercial broadcast but rather two-way radio. My early years I worked on avionics(two-way, radar, nav aids, transponders, autopilot) but that was at the begining of solid state electronics. I was licensed to maintain and repair television transmitters, but never did. (sigh) Ended up designing radios for police, fire and gvernment use.
I've been a computing fan since the late 60's and currently enjoy using PCs to create pictures, video and music as a hobby.

Hi I'm AJ a.k.a. Modism or No_Race. I'm 14 and live in Hampshire, England. To earn bit of cash on top of my paper round and pocket money I do stand up comedy at my school and some local halls etc.
I got into directing when I started to animate about 2 years ago. I then got into film making when I was given a camera for my birthday that same year since then I got a better camera and have become even more involved with films, I am the founder of a small film group called Jackal Productions.
My idles are: John Cleese; Quintin Tarentino; Jason Statham; Al Murray; Steven Speilberg (obviously)

Hey. The name's John Dudek, I'm from Davis, CA. I'm an amature filmmaker, 16 years old. I'm more into music, however, and I'm carrying two bands at the moment.
I hope I can get a lot from this forum, and what I've read so far has been good stuff.
