Default IOV Convention broadens its appeal

Press Release

Following its first year at Stoneleigh Park, the Institute of Videography is pleased to announce that it’s Annual Convention and Trade Exhibition has expanded yet again and will this year occupy the entire hall on 27th & 28th April. In addition, 2005 will see the participation of additional video-related associations – including the BKSTS (British Kinematograph Sound and Television Society), IAC (the Film & Video Institute) and CMC (Churches Media Council).

Situated just outside Coventry, Stoneleigh Park is probably best known for hosting the UK’s leading outdoor events, including the Royal Agricultural Show – and provides over 10,000 square metres of purpose-built indoor exhibition facilities that rival any major exhibition venue within Europe. Hall 1, being roughly three times the floor space the IOV occupied at its previous venue, has helped to accommodate the rapid growth of this event.

Aimed primarily at the professional videographer, the IOV convention also has a growing following amongst serious hobbyists who strive to produce video to a professional standard. The seminar programme spanning the two days is geared towards the professional, and those wanting to achieve professional results – and ranges from technical ‘How to’ type presentations through to sessions with expert panels from the wedding, corporate and documentary markets – including presentations for oversees industry experts.

With literally hundreds of manufacturers being represented, visitors can see, try and buy all the latest professional video technology. From simple cables and connectors through to entire production studios – or even a year’s worth of tape and media stock. Regular visitors make the IOV Convention their main purchasing event, and exhibitors respond by providing many special exhibition offers.

Those travelling by car benefit from literally thousands of free parking spaces. Stoneleigh Park is easily accessed from M1 (Junction 17), M6 (Junction 2), M40 (Junction 15) or M42 (Junction 6) with AA signage in place on all major routes for the event. Air and train travel details can be found on the IOV website (www.iov.co.uk) – along with details of local hotels.

Entrance to the exhibition trade halls is free to registered visitors which can be completed online. Further details are available from event organisers, IOV Focus, on +44 (0) 20 8502 3817.
