Default Tenomichi announces first demonstration of 3D edit Pro

Press Release

Quote:
VIDEO FORUM-LONDON, UK-JANUARY 21, 2004

Tenomichi today announced that it has teamed up with AMD (NYSE: AMD) for a world first demonstration of its new High Definition real time video editing system 3D Edit Pro at the UK's Video Forum 2005 Exhibition.

3D Edit Pro enables the real time editing of high definition formats including Windows Media High Definition Video (WMV HD) and High-Definition Video (HDV) and uses the Graphical Processing Unit (GPU) to add stunning real time FX.

3D Edit Pro includes Tenomichi's Shaderman Library of real-time "shader FX" which are small programs that run inside GPU. Shaderman has traditional features such as colour correction and chroma keying as well as a whole host of new FX created with Nvidia, which have migrated from the computer games and film industry.

In the past you would need proprietary accelerated video editing hardware to edit High Definition video but 3D Edit Pro uses the staggering power of the AMD Athlon™ 64 processor, and NVidia GeForce 6 series GPUs coupled with the PCI Express Bus to deliver a software only solution.

"This is a new era for Windows PC based video editing." said Richard Faria, Tenomichi's Chief Technology Officer. "The Power of the AMD Athlon 64 processor means you can decode multiple streams of video, the Nvidia GeForce 6 Series GPU enables you to carry out on-chip rendering and the PCI Express Bus provides the data highway. 3D Edit glues the whole thing together enabling High Definition Formats to be edited with real time FX." he said.

"AMD64 technology provides the perfect balance between artistic performance and production power," said Charlie Boswell, director, AMD Digital Media and Entertainment. "Innovators like Tenomichi and programs like 3D Edit Pro optimized for AMD64 remove traditional bottlenecks allowing HDV editors to work their magic unencumbered by technology limitations. It's the difference between working on a computer versus performing with a computer."
