0 Videos nominated Video Of the Month(s): 0 | | How to break a DVD?
Was around a mate's house and she got all flustered because I pushed the DVD tray to activate the mechanism rather than press the button. I figure they're designed to do this (otherwise they'd have put the eject button above the tray).
Anybody else think pushing a dvd tray in is damaging to the drive mechanism?

Don't know if it weakens the mechanism (I've done it habitually for years), but the trays are tougher than they look. Apparently some survey revealed that many novice users regarded them as trays for plastic cups!
After occasional use as such, they were none the worse.

It's probably not ideal, but i've been doing it for years. These things tend to outlive the medium they're for, anyway.

Women and technology eh? Just don't mix! Just tell her to carry on doing the washing up while you sort out the technology

No, I only bought it a few weeks ago. Still getting to grips with it, but it is wonderful having control over just about everything.
I am happy

So now you're a canon convert, how long until you get your hands dirty with Adobe?
Speaking of persuading people to use Adobe, anyone seen Lloyd (LJR) kicking around?

Well very recently my Sony (TRV 33) broke with the dreaded C31 x error (a tape transport error). A similar error occurred on my Sony Video recorder recently as well (tape transport again). And it got me thinking that over the years Sony just don't have the same quality build that they used to. DO with that in mind and spending a bit on a video cam, as well as all the reviews of course, I decide to go for Canon.
As for Adobe, well I must give it a try one of these days. I shall have to save up my pennies and get me a copy. Hey it may be such a steep learning curve that I will have to post some 'Please Help' queries on the forums.
Funny you should mention Lloyd. I was thinkling about that the other night, and noticed he hasn't posted since Gwen called him a douche something or other. Hope he comes back, because he has a lot to offer and it was good to see the number of regular posters growing.

Ohhh! And incidentally I choose the XM2 because I can't afford the XL2 that I won (fairly and squarely without a Google) in Millsy's conundrum competition got lost in the post.
