Anyone know of a decent UK video library. I'm looking for helicopter footage ofthe English Lake-District.

Can't help with a library, although I have often wondered if there is a market for aerial photography, as I'm pretty certain I could get a camera in the air and control it (stills or video) for a reasonable price!

(And before Shrimpy jumps in and tells us about R/C helicopters, that's not what I'm talking about!

Less vibration and weight restrictions!)

That sounds exciting stuff. I need to stay with HDV although which shouldn't affect the weight in anyway.
A couple of questions!
Whats your location and when you say a reasonable price, can you give me a clue? I've just lost my job so how reasonable is reasonable?
With not having too much info and detail at the moment I can only estimate that filming could be completed within a day.

There's a huge competitve market for aerial photography. What you are offering may be of interest to my commercial colleagues.

If you wish to give me some ideas of costs I can put it on my(front page Google) website and spread the word a little.

It is an idea I have been toying with for a few months now, and, as far as I can ascertain, hasn't been tried as yet! (Well, not for aerial photography. Otherwise, it's a proven concept)

The initial costs would be in the few hundreds, maybe 5 or 6, but having suffered a heart attack earlier in the year I haven't had the funds to build.
It's good to hear that there are avenues to follow that would/might make the project worthwhile!

The problems, as I see it, with Shrimpy's helicopter, are the weight only allows small cameras, vibration from the heli for really smooth shots, and it takes almost as much skill to fly an R/C heli as it does to fly a real one!

By all means PM me a phone number and we can talk about it, you can laugh at the idea or consider it, whichever you feel is appropriate!

R C H Remote Control Helicopter, ofcourse it is....what a Dumbo.
What a good little video. These things a really cool.

Dunno if I would be too happy allowing my 3G camera up there.
How often do they crash??
