Default PAL v NTSC?????

I know this might sound obvious at first BUT!! Please tell me:

a) Is it possible to use NTSC camera and make VCD,SVCD,DVD that will work in DVD players outside US & Japan etc??? :

The reason Im asking this strange question IS:

b) How the hell can a Panasonic AG DVC 30 cost US$1050 (NTSC) and in europe Panasonic AG DVC 30 US$3800 (PAL)!!!!????

Im sure there must be some way we can get round this for US$2750?????

Any good answers will be greatfully recieved

Yes, but the money saved in buying will quickly be eroded by your time/frustration spent on converting. PAL is also arguably a superior format.

You'll also have to add import tax at approximately 20%, then P&P, and that's if you can even find a supplier willing to ship outside the territory. Finally, if it does ever go wrong, the cost of returning under warranty would be huge - if even allowable.

Where did you find the price of $1050 - the cheapest I could find was closer to $1800, with a UK price tag of £1800ish.

Default Yeh I see what you mean!!

Thanks for the insight!

Yeh I don't think I'll bother handing over $1000 to these guys. It seems its better waiting and save up for one your sure your gonna get, for the quoted price.

Thanks again
