Just one point of clarification. You're not paying EU tax for 'analog in' - you're paying EU tax for 'anything in'. That's because there's a higher rate of tax on anything that can be used to record material - typically, a VCR. If you're planning to edit your movies and then store them on mini-DV tape, you'll need a camera with 'digital in' as well as the standard 'digital out'. So if it's got both digital in and analog in, you're just paying one 'tax' for the privilege. I think.
