Having spent a lot of time reading about HDV and HDTV, I'm starting to regret the decision to buy a new DV rather than HDV cam. WIth the HDR-FX1 shipping soon, the release of a HDV Premiere Pro plugin, the ability to shoot in DV and the glorious pictures I've seen from the HDR-FX1, I'm struggling to justify the purchase!
Even down sampled to SD, the HDV cams are looking good. The only problem seems to be high motion. Oh well, at least I have top of the range SD - and the HDR-FX1 will be obsolete six months down the line anyway 
It also doesn't have XLR inputs and the monitor is in a funky position.

Yeah, and I heard it smells and is girly and..and..and....oh just everything.
The XL2 is fragrance free, got nice red bits, a monitor in a non-funky position, and is for hairy chested men
