| | mpeg as standard codec
Hi, i've just read about mpeg-4 (source : wikipedia), it says that mpeg-4 is a one of compression method.
so i start to wonder if all mpeg families (mpeg-1(for vcd),mpeg-2,mpeg-4.dll) are all compression method.
so how about other compression method beside mpeg family ? or mpeg is the only one standard for all video format/extension ?
thank you in advance for the enlightment.

H.264 and mpeg-4 part 10, they are same ? or h.264 is compliant from mpeg-4 part 10 ?

You can't really read much into file extensions. It's how the video is encoded that seperates videos. Is there a reason, other than curiosity, that you want to know about this?

no more than curiousity i guess, was my question too specific ? i think i didn't ask about their performance or their compression setting... , or it sounded like that ?,( pardon me.. T.T )
i still hope someone could answer me.
