Sony HDR-SR5E microphone question..

Im new to this forum so I apologise if this is in the wrong place.

Im thinking about buying a Sony HDR-SR5E video camera but I need to know can an external Mic be used with it? I've heard you can use one from some and you can't from others

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I've had a quick look at the camcorder's specifications on the Sony site and there doesn't seem to be any microphone or audio input so, no, you can't add an external microphone.

Damn. Well does anyone know of a decent camera of roughly the same spec at roughly the same price that does allow external mic. input??
