Hey guys, I am new here.

I am really into media and have been thinking about working with a friends band with their audio stuff.

I do not know much about video or audio editing right now but I hope to learn a lot this summer.

I have a computer:

3.4Ghz P4 800mhz FSB
1GB DDR RAM
2 X 160GB SATA 7200RPM HD
DVDRW
256MB ATi Radeon X850XTPE
Running on Microsoft Windows XP SP2

and a Laptop:
Core Duo 1.6Ghz Pentium
1GB RAM
160GB HD
Dual Layer DVDRW
Onboard Graphics
Running on Microsoft Windows Vista [ :( If I had another Laptop I would but I am not bringing this down to XP ]

I have asked a few relatives for programs that I could use and they have given me:

Sony Acid
Adobe Audition 2.0

I am working on getting Adobe Premier

I was wondering what is the best way to record, and can I record with Adobe Audition?

If you guys could direct me towards any places that have tutorials or tips I would greatly appreciate it.
