Just curious..what or if there would be any advantage of using Avio over a program like Vegas? From what I know, seems they do the same thing.

I am not familiar with Avio but from thier ads it appears to be a less capable and perhaps (a big perhaps) easier to use.

Remember too you only need a capture card for analogue, for dv use firewire.

The budget version of vegs or other budget versions of 'real' editors may be a better bet.
