just want to get an idea whats everyone using...camcorderwise and programs


also i was reading the faq section. they mention dvd camcorder isnt recommended for video editing...why is that

Camcorder - Sony vx9000e (2), big, old, shoulder mounted, noisy, smeary, lovely balance, can sit on my shoulder for hours no sweat. Sony pc4e, small, sneaky.

Editing - vegas 7.0

DVD camcorders - produce video tghat is hard to edit and has a lower bit rate then dv, so slightly poorer picture.

Sony FX1
Canon XM2
Panasonic NVDS15+17 for those 'lesser' moments.
and a number of small bullet cams.

Final Cut Studio all the way!!


And DVD Cameras...Pffft! Would touch one with a barge poll [unless i'm being paid to](see reasons above + annoying codecs + in my experience lower res)

Dont forget the mics ! At least as important as the camera in my view.

Mine are shure sm58, sony c74 shotgun, sony ecm50 lapel mic, rode video mic.
