Canovision 8mm VM-E2E [1987]

May be the wrong place to post - did not see any antiques section!

Have turned it on after 8 years and it works fine. The xmas 1998 tape seems perfect.!

Am wondering how I can retrieve any time/date info from the tapes or am I dreaming.
