Default mini dv to dvd recorders?

Probably a stupid question but just wondering if you can transfer mini dv easily if at all to a dvd recorder in the same way as you can connect to video recorder, as i dont have a dvd player yet i thought i might get a dvd recorder if you can. Thanks for any reply.

Many DVD recorders nowadays have a firewire port. You can use that instead of analog connections for perfect video quality.

Of course, by "perfect" I mean that because the signal's digital you won't have any signal degradation. Your video quality is only as good as the camera it's shot on.
