While I have successfully edited a few home movies, I would still consider myself a beginner. I am having some trouble editing .mts video from my new camcorder. The video plays beautifully on my pc but when it plays “inside” the editing software, it seems a little choppy. Before I go any further, here are the specs:

Camcorder: Panasonic HDC-TM900K
Software: Corel VideoStudio Pro X4

I did convert the video using handbrake and transferred to my macbook air so I could use imovie. I am not happy with the results. The low light portions of the video are grainy and pixelated. Also, that converted the video to .mov so when I burned it to a Blu ray disc, my players won’t read it. As you can probably tell by now, I have no idea what I am doing and need some help. All I really want to do is find a relatively easy-to-use editing program that will import and edit my .mts video without quality loss. I don’t even care about the cost. Does my pc configuration meet the requirements for this? Can you anyone suggest a “can’t miss” program that will accomplish this?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I feel bad I haven't been on here in a while. Kids and work will do that to you. Slowly getting back into video. My question is I want to shoot a couple of videos for my guitar instructor and want to have a little fun with it. We discussed having him teach his alter ego how to play(himself). I know how to shoot him twice and make it seems as if he is two different people with the lighting and everything staying exactly the same for both shoots. The hard part I haven't figured out is timing of the dialog since it is done at 2 seperate times and make it seem seamless. I am not sure if this is the right thread but here is an example of what we want to do. Thanks for any help I can get and glad to be back.

I'm editing a multicam project using Vegas Pro 12 for Blu-ray

Normally when enabling multicam on Vegas, all motion, event FX and colour correction changes are lost when creating a multicam track.
As a workaround I've been rendering the clips to MP2 and then putting that on the timeline instead of the original video to preserve any changes I've made before editing in multicam.
That seems to work fine for DVD, but what render settings would I use for Blu-ray as Vegas cannot see the rendered .m2v file (Blu-ray 1920x1080-50i 25 Mbps video stream template ) when I attempt to import back into the Vegas timeline?
As I don't want to degrade the quality of the video, could anyone suggest what lossless render template I can use for Blu-ray?
Thanks.
