Massive difference on new prices on the net. Creative Video want £2,988, HDEW Cameras - £2249 inc vat.
Secondhand - got to be competitive hasn't it?
EDIT - Just looked again at Creatives' price. Wow, you get a free bag and a better battery - hardly worth another seven hundred quid is it....

Hi
The HVR-V1E is in perfect condition and would come as new in the original box with all the bits.
We would be looking for £1,850 + vat @ 15% (Total price £2,127.50)
Vat is added as it is a sale of an asset from our vat registered company.
It is a UK item NOT a grey import (as sold from some of the cheaper online sites).
If you are interested we do accept credit cards direct, or alternatively bank transfer or cheques can be accepted also. Cheques would need 5 working days to clear.
Please note that selling camcorders is not our business and is a one off sale for an asset that we do not use. It was purchased in March 2008 and used for a couple of projects only. It is a lovely camcorder looking for a new home.
Given that your ptice is only £121.50 under the new price mentoned on this thread I would say your chances of selling on here are zero.
Try e bay - people often pay more than the new price on there - lord knows why. lols.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but in our experience when we tried to purchase this camcorder initially all the cheaper online prices turned out to be grey imports. Infact we had our fingers burnt and had to request a charge back on our credit card after a "lower cost" online shop took our money and failed to deliver! Lucky for us the credit card company was on the ball and we purchased the camcorder that we are now selling from an authorised UK Sony dealer.
If the price offends don't buy it.
So that told you.
Good point about the grey import business though. But still...
£2329.95
£2379.00
Etc. Don't be offended that I point this out, just think - that's what everyone else will do.
I think Mark's advice about whacking it on eBay is best. People get bid-mania and pay ludicrous amounts for stuff on there. You might even make a small profit. Especially with the VAT issue.
