Default DVD Menu Creator

Hi Guys,

I'm making my very own DVD holiday-video. All the footage is edited and ready to go onto DVD but I still need to create a menu. These are the things I want:

- buttons for 'play movie', 'scene selection' and 'extra's'. So I need software that allows you to create sub-menu's. Most easy to use products (Ulead, Nero) don't have that.

- For main menu I want a looped 10 second video as a background. Not just a picture.

- It would be really cool to have multiple background video's so that each time the DVD is played the background is picked by random. (As with The Godfather DVD.)

Does anyone know which sofware to buy to meet all my demands????

Thanks a lot!

Schmeun

It's the word random in your question that becomes the kicker.

I'm not aware of any commercially available packages that allow this. You'll be looking at some sort of 'Hollywood Super Pro' DVD authoring package for that.

As for sub menus and animated backgrounds. I know that Adobe Encore does it all. A bit OTT on price for a holiday DVD though. It's a the only DVD authoring s/w I have so can't offer any other choices but I would be suprised if something Adobe Premiere Elements didn't allow it also and you can get that for about £50
