2 fold question...


I got a "Sony Handycam" DCR-DVD103 NTSC mini dvd recorder as a gift.
I went through the basics in the manual and shot some home footage.

Then, I shot some indoor & outdoor night footage of my daughter getting her new car which, is one of those memories you want to have always to look back on right?

Well, it looked ok in the LCD screen shooting it but when I played it on the dvd player it was too dark and we can't see alot of it.

1.) Are there editing programs that allow you to add/adjust light to your videos (like when you edit digital pictures?)
I hope I didn't ruin this memory.

2.) I will just be using the program for home movies (old & new) so I can't buy a high $$ set up but, want to learn to make what we have really nice. which program(s) might you suggest?

Do you folks know IF I can save this... and with what ?

Hi Higgy,

Unfortunately DVD camcorders aren't generally as good quality as DV tape camcorders, because they compress the video a lot more, but you might be able to rescue it.

If you're only doing occasional video editing, I reckon Adobe Premiere Elements would be a good program for you to use. I think you can download a trial version from www.adobe.com, so give that a go and see what you can do with the brightness and contrast.

I hope the trial version allows me to utilize those features.
That's what I believe it needs but didn't know if any entry level programs had it.
I will try it and post back!

Perhaps I can redeem myself when I play it back for the family!
Will look into a "tape" type camcorder too!
