ulead workshop closes when i go to the finish screen. but only if i use a avi. any avi inserted in to the edit screen, will then crash ulead when advancing to the finish screen.

Skunx, I tried replicating this with my own copy of Ulead Workshop (I did read right this time?) and can't get the software to fall over at all. No problem every time with any avi file.

My version of Workshop incidentally is 1.3. Are you on version 2? I will download the trial and see if I can replicate.

In the meantime (and this is a real long shot ...) try saving your project before clicking the 'Finish' tab. Could be that the memory buffers need flushed. And another real long shot, double check that your temprorary workspace is set to your video hard drive (If you have one).

I'll post back once I have had a chance to check the download (probably in several hours)

Tried again with Workshop version 2. Still no software crashes.

Sorry ... can only assume its a memory handling problem at your end.

i think i made the mistake this time, arrr damn ulead products. I think i ment foctory. I forget wich was the bigger program, any way you idea may fix it ill try right now, and then finish typing. brb.....

if i do it this way, what will i lose vrs. converting with tmpgenc first?

You won't lose anything by converting to MPEG via tmpgenc first.
