Default spanning discs

Hi,

If I have a movie which is like an hour long and want this burned onto SVCD (which only allows about 30 mins at high quality) how would you span the movie across 2 discs?

Do you have to break up your avi file into 2 files and just burn each one on separate cd's? Or is there an easier way?

Thanks

You need to cut the MPEG2 file into two parts before burning. You can do this in TMPGenc, and I've written a guide at: http://www.marcpeters.co.uk/tmpgenctools.html

If you have an AVI,I'd use TMPGenc to encode to SVCD compliant MPEG2, but do two encodes: one that encodes to halfway, and the other that encodes from halfway to the end. That way you get your two MPEG2 files which can be burnt seperately.

Thank you Marc.

I shall have a look at the TMPGenc tool and read your guide.

If I have any problems, I'll post back on this thread.

Thanks
