Default DVD burning giving intermittent playback

I have started to get problems with copying DVD's and also with burning DVD's using the MAGIX. programme. The copies playback is very intermittent, they stick -sometimes once or twice with no more problems, other times they stick and will not play on. The ones I am burning from Magix also stick, unless they bomb out before the end. I never had this problem until recently and I use the same DVD burner to copy CD's with no problems. I have loads of space on my computer, which is only 9months old. Does anyone have any advice - I am loathe to purchase a new burner as it might not solve the problem.[/b]
