Default Quicktime Conversion ?

Hey:

Well I have done a search to no avail so if this has been answered before please forgive me upfront.

I now come to the experts for advice and guidance on this issue.

Our Sr. Pastor wants to show a video clip this Sunday but the video clip download is in Quicktime. Now I realize that I could play on our computer this weekend on the big screen but wanted to see if there was a way to have it play on a standalone DVD player as we would then be able to use this promo in other locations.

The file is 30.3 mb in size and .mov file. Any help appreciated as I need to resolve as soon as possible.

Thanks

Scooter

Ooops... one more thing:

This can be in a DVD, SVCD or VCD format I really do not mind as the players we have support all these formats.

if you install the quicktime player. "The free one" Then all you need is
Tmpeg. you can convert the .MOV to MPEG1 or MPEG2 to make your
DVD or SVCD,VCD, you download tmpeg for free at

http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_download.html

Once you get it in mpeg1 or mpeg2 format you will need another program
like Tmpeg DVD author or SonicMyDVD to convert it to DVD or VCD.

Good luck!

Shiner I allways wondered how people made bink videos. good to know

Well I had an extra 10 minutes so tried the TMPGEnc to no avail unless I really missed something. Does not support .mov files so unable to convert. Thanks for that option however as I am sure I will use that for something else in the future.

I will try again tomorrow with Bink and see how that goes.

But... if anyone is interested in taking on this little task please feel free to step up to the plate and let me know. :P

be sure you have the quicktime plugin installed. first you should get
a message from quicktime saying that it must install software, just click
on yes and it should work ok.

Shock.

I have quicktime player installed on my computer and has been working fine. Version 6.5

When I installed TMPGenc everything went well. When I launched the program it asked me questions on what I wanted to do and where is the file I want to convert. The source file to convert to mpeg on my hardrive wofef2005.mov is not listed as an option to convert. Comes back as file cannot open or un-supported.

Again, I guess I must be missing something somewhere?

Shiner:

Tried the Bink Converter and it converted the video but sound is way way off and I am very confused with what they are saying to do by using virtual dub as apparently this is an issue. Well worth the try however.

ALL I WANT TO DO IS CONVERT THIS STINKING mov FILE TO VCD or DVD or something that can be played this weekend. Called the company that put this together and they have no other means for us to watch. Can you believe it???? I told them that they really needed to think about thier audience more and what people have to play these promos on.

Can you tell I am getting flustered.

Sorry, I am ranting. I know, I know I can pay for the full version of Quicktime but really there has to be an easier way.

Scooter

P.S. At least during this session of questions I have surpassed the 50 entry level and now I am a full fledged Video Editing Junkie.
Marc does that qualify for a FREE Digital Director Shirt? I would be pleased to promote here in the little old USA for you if you say yes.
