Question Which software can you recommend

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on which editing doftware to buy.

I've got power producer but it wont edit film from my DVD camera which puts my film directly onto disc. I've used this in the past to edit clips add music etc from old Cine film put onto VHS and running it through my pc. I want to move onto the more complex stuff!!

What I'm looking for is something to edit clips, add music, titles, chapters and add special effects. I've seen some that can change a broom stick into a light sabre for instance....my husband would love that, he always wanted to be in Star Wars!

Also any advice on best place to buy, PC World seem to have a very basic, very expensive selection.

Thanks in advance,

Tiktok
