does anyone know how to make it so that when you press a button it fades out of something like that. Idealy i would quite like to make a slightly better animation than just fading but if this is immensly hard, i think i might just stick with the fading.

i thinkthe answer here is to create an animation sequence outside of encore and have the button play it - followed by the 'real' video footage. As long as it blends seamlessly with the current menu you have your answer.
