It might be worth trying out a one or two colour conversion to black and white. ie lose the blue signal and convert the rest to B/W, if that doesn't work just leave the red channel and convert that. I don't know which software you use but it should possible. Failing that, I find adjusting the tone curve after converting to monochrome, works better than just adjusting the contrast to get the proper B/W look.
Intersting - doing that never occured to me. Most editors can do that - the s ware can - colour correction tools.
Great suggestions Gaffer. I use Vegas Pro 9 so I'm sure I can play around with your suggestions with that.
