I've already said what I think. You put the op up for discussion Jerry. I find your answer condescending "you don't have to apologise" ???. Screw it, just because I don't subscribe to how 'brilliant' your bracket is, that doesn't make me a bad person. And I don't have to 'deal' with my thoughts... do you?

I'm off to edit a gig from Saturday night. This thread doesn't deserve any more time or effort from me.

In that case there must have been a fair few missing "nt"s over the past few months.

What annoyed me, and a few others, were the sarcastic comments which came nearly every time someone disagreed. It's not necessary and it was about time that it was commented on. If Jerry has thrown his toys out of the pram and left, then he should learn to take criticism. This is a videomaking forum, not a garden-shed-construction forum, the toys are interesting but not the reason that we are here.

I felt that Jerry's sarcastic comments aimed at an experienced (and sucessfull) videomaker and someone who made and sold camera cranes long before Jerry tried to have a go, were unwarrented, rude and out of order. Jerry's personal comments like "your thinking that is something you have to deal with" and "your potentially negative thinking is firmly your problem" needed to be addressed.

If Jerry has a problem communicating then he should deal with it, rather than expecting others to make allowances for his keyboard-toretts.

Now I'm off to make a steadycam with a rubber band, stickyback plastic and a washing-up bottle.

I would run with that.
I can be blunt - rude even, tho offence is rarely intended - soooo - I dont throw a strop ( well rarely) when i get taken to task and rinsed.

I quite like edgy play on forums but if you give it you gotta take it.

Do me one too Guru. I'm seriously looking for a good one actually. With your experience - any budget recommendations? The Smooth Shooter looks like a contender, but I'm looking for any advice really.

Sounds more like an episode of MacGyver!

EDIT - Just purchased the Glidecam 4000 with smooth shooter vest and its a great bit of kit. Got some sweet footage last weekend on a music video shoot. Good value for money as well. I haven't used other systems though so I don't have anything to compare it to but I'm happy so far...

Where from and how much Fingercuff? If it's not too rude to ask.

Yep, it's surprising how smooth just a body can be.

I purchased it from creative video with a few other things. I'll have to check the invoice for the exact price when I get home and update. We got a package deal getting the vest and the glidecam itself together. They accidently sent me 2 glidecams as well. I thought about putting one on ebay but decided to be a good samaritan (or a mug depending on point of view) and send it back. I need all the good karma I can get!
