Sorry again, I've been very busy with school.

I doubt I'd ever need the camera coupled. For what we want to accompish, it need to move. How much weight would you sugguest. I can try to go wide with it, but a cockpit of a general aviation aircraft is EXTREMELY cramped. Sorry, Its getting late on a school night and I got a few more things. I'll check in on friday if I can. Big game tomarrow night.

Give me an idea of what scope of movement you need. It's still viable to couple the camera and allow movement.

From floor to the optimal camera placement is about 2.5ft. But also, what I forgot to say is that I would be filming ground targets. Ruffly 1,500ft off the ground. Sorry for my imperial system of measurement, its considered standard around here :P Thats why In a way, I don't want to be mounted. As far as coupled, it has to be a clip or somthing along those lines. I do not own the plane, as well as most people don't take it kindly when you say your drilling a few holes in there quater-million dollar aircraft.

Hey no worries, I was brought up with both imperial and metric, so know them equally well.

What I was heading to was an idea of using a braced prop inside the cabin, with an arm sticking out one side with a fluid tripod head mounted on to it. A simple contstruction of 3x2 timber will do it. No need to drill holes , just have two uprights, and spread them apart overlapping each other and fix them with 'G' clamps or something across the overlap. Another clamp could hold the stick out arm, so you can re-position it as necessary.

I think we are at the stage where you need to actually try some of this stuff to show what has value and what doesn't, I guess trying to direct a camera at something 1,500 feet away is going to be a challenge under any circumstances, but by having a go you'll at least know if your are heading in the right direction.
