Default Improving old b/w films

I have been asked to help restore some old b/w films rendered to video. I have Vegas 6.0d as an editor. Is there anything or any techniquesthat will help besides the Brightness/Contrast effects and the Black Restore?

A sample of what I was given and my first efforts on it are at: YouTube - 1925 Russian Flight to Peking.

Thanks for any advice. This is a favor I am doing for a friend and some of these are in very bad condition. Not surprising considering some of the film was shot in maybe 1912, when the movie was not that great to start with.

You might be able to apply a dust and scratches noise filter as well

Thanks, MarkOneMusic. I am going to try that as I am about to start on another set of old films. Mostly, though the problem is overexposure, and faded images. I am not certain anything can be done about that as it would be hard to improve pixels that are not there. The people I am doing this far seem to have been pleased so far, but I would like to do better.
