Default Super interview cam !

I have a huge camera, vx9000e, and a crap panasonic. I decided it was time for a new camera and I decided to make a super tiny interview cam. It's cool and I thought I would share it with you all.

The camera was s.h off ebay for 160 quid and the mic was about 90. The camera came with the very wide convertor, just the job.

Cool! One of those Sony PC series? I didn't even know they had a mic input. What about the image quality? Are you happy with that?

Well spotted, PC6E.

The video quality is suprisingly good. I only use it all auto and it is a bit weird cos with my big cam I am an all manual person.

It's a whole new way of filming for me, just shoot and go ! Havent used it much yet but I can already see the benefits of shoot and go, I probably wont get as technically good shots but I am sure i will get more intersting stuff on the tape.

The image is noisey in low light and at the sharp end of the DV continuem... all sharp edges and specclie bits, but I prefer that to my old pana that is really soft. It does have manual focus but I dont envisage using it, and the ring squeeks anyway.

Basically it does the job suprisingly well in such a teeny package.

The camera mic is totally hopeless, no bass, motor noise and on the top of the camera so it's good for birds and planes but not speech. I think the rode looks hilarious on top of the tiny camera.

I have shot some stuff but I cant show it as it is too hot for my manky PC to render, hoho. One thing I did notice, in very bright light the image is very 'bleached', I suppose cos it has no lens hood.

Yep, mine does that too. Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do. But you might be able to attach a lens hood.

I think both cams would look super cool with the rode and the light, hoho.
