Default Best Cam For XMas?

Hey Im a noob here. Please take ripping on me light at first. But to the topic I was wondering what the best camcorder would be for me. I plan on spending up to 400 dollars on it, New or USED. Im going to be shooting motocross and other extreme sports. I have been editing videos for quite some time but always used my friends low end digital camera. I want to get one for Christmas.

Price: About $400
Use: Extreme Sports
Computer: Dell Pentium 4 512 DDR Windows XP.
Editing software: Vegas 6.0

Im going to put many of the videos I make online, so I really want best quality.. obviously

THANKS anything could help. I plan on going to college for this, maybe at AI.
