Default Panasonic consusion - Difference N and P in model name

Hello there,

as a complete beginner I have a strange question: Is the model panasonic pvgs150 the same as panasonic nvgs150?

The first one is mentioned on the US website, the second one on the UK one. I am a bit confused as I thought that PAL is the European Video standard and NTSC the American one?

It would be great if someone could bring some light into my darkness

Kurt

rigth This is an educated guess but probably right - If the us one is the nvgs150 and the UK one is the pvgs150 then it means the following - The n stands for NTSC American TV standards and the P stands for PAL (UK standard) so depending on which country you live in buy the appropriate one. - I'm sure if you drop them an email at the site you were looking at they'll clarify it.

The NV code is the European std PAL and the PV code is American std NTSC. I live in Cape Town which uses the PAL std and purchased a NV-GS400 from USA. I thought long and hard about purchasing the NTSC version it was slightly cheaper but opted to pay a bit more and stick to the standard, there are too many quality issues trying to mix the two.

Thats great. Thank you for your help. I sent some emails to Panasonic and some retailers, but got either nothing back or just a note to say that they cannot provide this kind of imformation.

Guess (as I am living in the UK) I will also stick to the European standard...

Kurt
